Peeing on Sheng-yen Lu’s Head

Many years ago I was invited to travel to another city to conduct a consecration ceremony for a new Leizang Temple. This temple had been built with funding contributed by many fellow students.
Two days before the trip, while playing basketball, I was running to pick up the ball when my left foot landed right at the juncture where the concrete border of the basketball court meets the soil. My left toes hit the soil while my rear foot hit concrete.
I sprained my left foot, resulting in an injury of tendons and bones that lasted one hundred days. I became Grand Master Lu with a lame leg.
  This was my first premonition.

Although I was limping on one leg, I went ahead and attended the consecration and opening ceremony of that Leizang Temple, without deviating from my planned itinerary.
Following the Eye Opening Ceremony and Enlivening of the Statues, I was to give a dharma teaching from a special “Dharma King Treasure Seat.” The two armrests of this chair had been sculptured into dragon heads with protruding copper wires representing whiskers of the dragons.
After ascending to this chair, I sat down and placed my hands on the arm rests and inadvertently scraped my arm against the copper wires. I felt a stinging pain and immediately raised my arm to look. A small reddened abrasion appeared on my arm, oozing a few drops of blood.
Wow! This was causing the body of a Buddha to bleed.
I swallowed the pain and did not mention it as I continued with the dharma teaching. Yet, I felt that this was another omen.
  This was my second premonition.
I sustained injury to my foot and arm during my trip to this Leizang Temple.

Soon afterwards, I entered into meditation and saw the residential master, the abbot of the Leizang Temple mentioned above, standing above my head. He unbuttoned his pants and proceeded to shower urine on my head. He was indeed peeing on Sheng-yen Lu’s head!
After I exited from my meditation, I sensed deeply that this was a bad omen.
  This was my third premonition.
I am an honest person by nature and trust others easily. Thus, I am also betrayed by others easily.
I give my all to others but am often taken advantage of.
In my thoughts, all people are good and kind. But in this human world, it is hard for people to avoid loving themselves more than others. Due to this self-grasping, they become steeped in greed, anger, and delusion. As spiritual cultivators, we must learn to love others more than ourselves. This is a generation of bodhicitta. Bodhicitta in aspiration, bodhicitta in action, relative bodhicitta and absolute bodhicitta. Although I am often betrayed by others, I do not bear any resentment. I just hope that they will understand my heart and transform their excessive self-love to love for sentient beings.
The identity of this Master XX of the aforementioned Leizang Temple should be quite obvious!

In the last several days, while meditating, I saw another Master XX clambering up to the top of my head. He stood up, lifted his red lama skirt, and proceeded to urinate on my head.
Wow! He was peeing on the Buddha’s head. Alas! Here comes another.
I hope the noble students of True Buddha School will avoid committing the downfalls in the Fourteen Tantric Root Downfalls and practice the devotion described in the Fifty Stanzas of Guru Devotion.
Read the precepts carefully and abide by them. Do not break the precepts and as a result fall interminably into the three lower realms.
Noble students, be careful! Be careful!
